Yashasvi Jaiswal was born on 28th December 2001 (Friday) in Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh. Yashasvi’s father Bhupendra Jaiswal runs a small hardware shop in Bhadohi. And mother Kanchan Jaiswal is a housewife. And among 6 siblings, Yashasvi is fourth. Due to weak economic conditions, Yashasvi could not read and write much. Yashasvi had decided at an early age that he wanted to become a cricketer.

His father took him to live with Yashasvi’s uncle in Mumbai but there was little space in their house. The cricket ground was also far from there, due to which his uncle asked him and arranged for him to stay in a dairy where Yashasvi had to work. But Yashasvi used to go out for practice from early morning, due to which the dairyman kept him out of his dairy. After which he went to Azad Cricket Ground and he was told by the coach that if you play well in this match, he will be allowed to stay in the tent.

Jaiswal’s father Bhupendra Jaiswal would send some money for the expenses, but he would fall short. Yashasvi did many things to earn money. The ball was often lost on Azad Maidan. Some rupees were given to the person who found the ball. He started earning some money from it. On performing well, he would get a few rupees as a reward even as man of the match. Apart from all this, Jaiswal also sold Golgappa during Ramlila to be held at Azad Maidan.

The struggle was on, but Yashasvi was not able to get any special recognition. Then Yashasvi’s family decided to bring him back home. In the year 2013, Jwala Singh, the coach of Jwala Foundation Academy, saw him playing and after seeing Yashasvi’s tremendous batting, talked to him and got his information from him, after which he took Yashasvi with him to his academy and started taking care of him. Yashasvi Jaiswal first came into the limelight in the year 2015 when Yashasvi scored an unbeaten 319 in a Shield match which was an all-round record in school cricket that was remembered by the Limca Book of Records. He was then selected for the Mumbai Under-16 team and then for the India Under-19 team, after which he scored 294 runs in 7 matches in the Under-19 tri-series in England in the year 2018, which included 4 half-centuries.

In January 2019 he made his first-class debut for Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy and then made his List A debut on 23 September 2019 for Mumbai in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Jaiswal then scored 203 off 154 balls in a Vijay Hazare Trophy match opposite Jharkhand on 16th October 2019, becoming the youngest double-centurion in the history of List A cricket at the age of just 17. In December 2019, Jaiswal was named in the squad of India for the 2020 Under-19 Cricket World Cup.
