Vishal Krishna is an Indian well-known film actor, director, and producer who predominantly works in South Indian films. He won the hearts of people by his tremendous acting in South films and working in the best action movies and due to his characters, he lives in millions of hearts. Vishal began his career in the film industry as an assistant director and thereafter, Vishal became an actor. Known for his characters in action movies, Vishal produces movies under his production company ‘Vishal Film Factory’.
He acted as the lead character for the first time in the romantic thriller film named “Chellam” (2004). Vishal Krishna Reddy also produces movies under his production company, ‘Vishal Film Factory’. After about 10 years of acting, he started making films under his production house Vishal Film Factory. Pandiya Nadu was her first film under her production company, in which she played the lead role.
Early Life
Vishal Krishna Reddy was born and grew up in Chennai. Vishal did his secondary education from Don Bosco Matriculation Higher Secondary School and then went to attend Visual Communication from Loyola College, Chennai. After completing his degree in Visual Communication at Loyola College, Vishal was able to secure an apprenticeship with renowned filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, but his parents refused and wanted him to work in South Indian films. Vishal later assisted actor-director Arjun in his ventures Veedham and Ezhumalai. On the sets of the film Arjun, a producer spotted Vishal on the set and signed him to appear in Chelamai, the directorial debut of Gandhi Krishna.

Career
Vishal started his career as an assistant director with actor-director Arjun Sarja in the film Venture Veedham (2001). Vishal Krishna started his acting career in 2004 with Gandhi Krishna’s Tamil film Chelamai, in which he played the role of Raghunandan. Sandakozhi was his next film in 2005 which was directed by N Lingaswamy. After making a cameo appearance in the film Dishum (2006), he appeared in Tarun Gopi’s action film Thimiru (2006). Apart from these, Reema Sen and Shreya Reddy were also in the lead roles in this film. The movie became Vishal’s 3rd consecutive commercial success, and Vishal began his foray into Tamil (Kollywood) movies.
Vishal’s next movie Sivappathigaram (2006) directed by Karu Pazhaniappan, failed financially despite favorable reviews. Then after this, he acted in the film Thamirbharani 2007 and the film achieved a lot of success at the box office. The same year Vishal appeared in Bhupathi Pandian’s “Malaikottai” (2007), a comedy entertainer. Then in 2008, Vishal played a police officer for the first time in the film Satyam, which failed to do much at the box office. And apart from this the movies Thoranai (2009) and Theeradha Vilaiyattu Pillai (2010) proved to be average at the box office.
Vishal was offered a role in Bala’s dark comedy, Avan Ivan, in 2011, his film also received mixed reviews, though Vishal’s performance received positive reviews. Vishal acted the character of a police officer in the movie Vedi (2011) directed by Prabhu Deva and produced by Vikram Krishna, Sriya Reddy, which was immediately declared a failure at the box office.
Career 2013-Present
Vishal played the role of a forest trek guide in the 2013 film Summer. After a cameo character in the movie Theeya Velai Seiyyanum Kumaru (2013), Vishal played in the action movies Pattathu Yaanai (2013) and Pandiya Nadu (2013). Vishal opted to produce and collaborate with Thiru for Naan Sigappu Manithan (2014), then he starred for a second time in Poojaai (2014) under director Hari, which did some decent business at the box office. In 2015, he acted in two films namely Ambala and Payum Puli. In 2016, he did three films; Kathakali, Marudhu, and Kaththi Sandai. The first two were average earners, while Kaathi Sandai flopped at the box office. In January 2017, Vishal signed his debut with the Malayalam film Villain.
In September 2017, Vishal worked in the film Thupparivaalan and then in 2018, Vishal had two major releases. The 1st was Irumbu Thirai directed by newcomer PS Mithran, which was released on 11 May 2018 (Friday). And the second was Sandakozhi 2 released in October 2018 which was directed by N. Linguswamy wrote and directed. In 2019, he did a film called Action directed by Sundar C. The movie gained mixed reviews and was a failure at the box office. In 2021, he starred in the action-thriller Chakra, directed by MS Anandan. In this film, he played the role of Major Chandru and also starred Shraddha Srinath and Regina Cassandra in the lead roles. The movie was released in Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.
Controversy
Actor-politician Vishal, along with his supporters, reached the TFPC office in T Nagar and insisted on breaking the lock and going to the office. Police officials were seen advising them to wait as some government officials were about to reach there to resolve the issue. The officials also asked him to at least come with the original key and wait till the lock is opened. Vishal still did not listen to the police personnel. He and the policemen had an altercation, following which he was taken into custody on charges of “unlawful assembly”, police said.
