Venkatesh Iyer is an Indian alrounder cricketer. He is a left-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-pace bowler, Venkatesh Iyer made his first-class debut for Madhya Pradesh in the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy against Hyderabad at Indore.
Other than this, he made his T20 International debut for Team India on 17 November 2021 against New Zealand in Jaipur.
Venkatesh Iyer’s name comes in the list of players who were selected for Team India after performing brilliantly in the IPL. This player was dominant in just a few matches while playing for KKR, after which Iyer entered Team India as an all-rounder.
Venkatesh played for KKR last season of IPL as well. Even in 2023, KKR has included him in their team for a substantial amount of Rs 8 crore.

Venkatesh Iyer was born on 25 December 1994 (Sunday) in the Indore city of Madhya Pradesh in a Tamil Brahmin family, his father’s name is Rajasekharan Iyer. His mother’s name is Usha Iyer, she was a head nurse at Apollo Hospital, Indore.
Let us tell you that his family is originally from Chennai, but before Venkatesh was born, his family moved from Chennai to Indore in the year 1988.
And later when he started getting success in cricket, then he took cricket seriously and started working hard with all his heart.
Hailing from Indore, Iyer’s talent was identified by local coach Dinesh Sharma and his skills were honed. Iyer continued to perform well and was also handed over the captaincy of the state U-23 team.
Venkatesh got his early education from St. Paul’s School, Indore. Thereafter, he took admitted to Renaissance College of Commerce & Management, Indore, Madhya Pradesh.
From where he completed his B.Com education. And after doing B.Com, he furthered his education and took admitted to Devi Ahilyabai University, Indore and from here he got MBA in finance education.

Career
Venkatesh Iyer started his domestic career in the year 2014 with the Under-16 team of Madhya Pradesh. After this, he also played for the Railway cricket team in the year 2015, where he made his debut in T20 cricket for Madhya Pradesh. He then made his first-class debut in December 2015 against Saurashtra at Rajkot.
After this, he made his first-class debut on 6 December 2018 against Hyderabad, where he played 15 matches with his excellent batting, in which he scored a total of 545 runs, while he has so far scored 850 runs in List A cricket.
Thereafter, in the year 2020, he got a chance to play in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, where he played a blistering inning of 198 runs in 146 balls for Punjab and took 2 wickets with his best bowling.
IPL Career
Due to his brilliant performance in this inning, Kolkata Knight Riders made him a part of their team in the year 2021 by bidding for ₹ 20 lakhs.
After this, he played his first IPL match in the year 2021 against Royal Challengers Bangalore, opening with Shubman Gill, in which he scored 41 runs in 27 balls and won his team.
Seeing his brilliant performance in the match, Virat Kohli himself came to meet him and Iyer had said in an interview that he learned batting techniques from Virat Kohli.
Venkatesh Iyer wreaked havoc with the bat in the match played against Gujarat Titans in IPL 2023. Venkatesh played an explosive inning of 83 runs in just 40 balls.
