Tillotama Shome is an Indian actress who predominantly works in English and Hindi films. She is best known for her act in A Death in the Gunj (2016), Sir (2018), Monsoon Wedding (2001), and Delhi Crime Season 2 (2022). She is also a part of the Bengali, Punjabi, and Nepali film industries.
Tillotama has spent almost 16 years as a leading actress in both Hollywood and Bollywood, showcasing her outstanding talent. In 2021, she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the 63rd Filmfare Awards for her performance in the film “A Death in the Gunj”.

Tilottama Shome was born on 25 June 1978 in Kolkata, West Bengal in a Bengali Kayastha family. Her father’s name is Anupam Kumar Shome and her mother’s name is Baishakhi Shome.
Her childhood was spent in various cities in India as her father was in the Indian Air Force. She has a younger brother and her brother’s name is Gaurav Shome.
Education
Tilotma Som completed his early studies in Kolkata. She did her graduation and post-graduation in English Literature from Lady Shri Ram College for Women, New Delhi and during this time joined Arvind Gaur’s Asmita Theater Group.
In addition, she went to New York City to pursue a Master’s in Educational Theater from The New York University Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development.

Tilottama met Jaya Bachchan’s nephew Kunal Ross at his cousin’s house. At that time she did not know that Kunal was related to the Bachchan family and when she asked Kunal about it, he said that he did not think it important to mention it.
Kunal was earlier working for an advertising firm in Dubai but now has an online coffee business TheIndianBean.com.
Tilottama Shome married Kunal Ross on March 29, 2015. He is the nephew of the famous Bollywood actress Jaya Bachchan.

Career
Shome made her film debut in 2001 with director Mira Nair’s romance film Monsoon Wedding, in which she played the role of Alice. This film also featured Naseeruddin Shah and Lillete Dubey.
In the year 2009, Shome starred as a nun in Claire McCarthy’s Australian film The Waiting City. She played a social worker in Italo Spinelli’s social awareness film Gangor, which was based on the novel by Mahasweta Devi.
In 2012, Shome appeared as Rani in Kaushik Mukherjee’s Bengali film Tasher Desh. Thereafter she appeared in various films including Shadows of Time, Turning 30, Shanghai, Budhia Singh – Born to Run, etc.
