Tilak’s father’s name is Namburi Nagaraju, he is an electrician and Tilak’s mother’s name is Gayatri Devi, she is a housewife. He has completed his studies at a government school. His whole family likes to watch cricket.
In the early days of cricket, Tilak used to play tennis ball and his special thing was that he did not play cricket with friends of his age but with older people. Tilak learned the basics of professional cricket from Salam Bayashi at the Meghalaya Cricket Academy, Hyderabad.

Cricket Career
Tilak was fond of playing cricket since childhood, Tilak used to play cricket with the elders of his age. Due to this his batting ability increased a lot. When Tilak went to play in a cricket tournament in summer camp with a tennis ball.
Salam Bayash was impressed by Tilak’s ability to hit sixes and told Tilak’s father that “Tilak’s career is in cricket, you send him to a cricket academy”.
Thereafter Tilak’s father sent him to the Meghalaya Cricket Academy, Hyderabad, Telangana, where Tilak was prepared in cricket by Salam Bayash. Salam used to give him all the necessary things needed for cricket because Tilak’s father could not bring such expensive things to him.
Father once S.S. Had brought the bat of the company. But that bat did not support him much and it broke due to which Tilak was very sad, and then the coach gave him a bat with which Tilak hit many fours, sixes, and centuries.
Tilak Varma gave an attempt for the Hyderabad Under-14 team on behalf of the club. After which he was elected the captain of the team. The situation at Tilak’s house was not good due to which Tilak could not bring the cricket kit.
Then the coach gave him the cricket kit on behalf of the club. Playing in the same kit, Tilak won the Best Captain and Best Batsman awards along with being the highest run-scorer in the Under-14 side. As a result, he got a chance to play in the All India Under-16 team, in which he scored 960 runs in 8 matches.
Tilak was the highest run-scorer in the competition and was also rewarded by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Tilak played for the Hyderabad cricket team in First Class, T20, and List-A. On 30th December 2018, Tilak made his first-class debut in the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy.
He made his T20I debut on 28 February 2019 in the 2018–19 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and his List A debut in the same year in Victory.
Hazare Trophy on 28 September 2019. Seeing his brilliant performance on the list, he got a chance to play in the Indian Under-19 team in December 2019.
IPL Team
In February 2022, Tilak was bought by Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2022 mega auction for Rs 1.70 crore. His base price was 20 lakhs. He made his Indian Premiere League debut in the 1st match opposite Delhi Capitals on 27th March 2022 and scored 22 runs in 15 balls with the help of three fours.
In April 2022, cricketer Tilak Varma scored a half-century for Mumbai Indians (MI) and became the youngest cricketer to do so. Tilak Varma scored a quick 50 opposite Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the year 2022.
