Tanuj Virwani received his primary education from Arya Vidya Mandir. After that, he attended Bombay Scottish School in Mumbai and Completed his graduation with a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) from HR College of Commerce and Economics. Initially, he thought of following in his father’s footsteps and becoming a real estate developer. However, after performing a small character in a school adaptation of ‘Merchant of Venice’ in 10th standard, the acting bug first bit him. When Tanuj graduated from Hassaram Rijhumal (H.R.) College of Commerce and Economics, he took a more active interest in drama.
His first job was as a clapper boy in the movie Aao Wish Karein (Released on 13th November 2009). Tanuj’s next film was Shahid Kapoor and Genelia’s hit Chance Pe Dance. Tanuj worked on the project for over one year. By the end of the shoot, he was certain that even though he enjoyed being behind the camera, it was in front of him that attracted him. After that, Virwani performed in the 2014 movie Purani Jeans directed by Tanushri Chatterji Bassu, and produced by Manju Lulla in this film his alongside Izabelle Leite and Aditya Seal. Her real mother Rati Agnihotri played the role of mother in this film. Later he appeared in the film One Night Stand is a Thriller Drama, directed by Jasmine D’Souza. It stars Tanuj Virwani, Sunny Leone, Nyra Bajaj in lead roles. The film has been shot in Mumbai, Pune, Bangkok. The film has been released in theaters on 6th May 2016.
