Ruturaj Gaikwad is an Indian international cricketer. Who plays for Maharashtra in domestic cricket and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Indian Premier League.
In July 2021, Ruturaj made his international debut for the Indian cricket team and scored the most runs in the Indian Premier League tournament in the year 2021, and he captained the team Maharashtra in T20 in Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy in the year 2021.
In Vijay Hazar Trophy 2022, Ruturaj Gaikwad has become the first batsman to hit seven sixes in an over. He has created history by scoring 220 runs in 159 balls in this match against Uttar Pradesh.
Ruturaj was bought by Chennai Super Kings for INR 20 lakhs in IPL 2019, 2020, and 2021 auctions, and after his good performance in the 2021 season, Gaikwad was roped in by Chennai Super Kings for INR 6 crores ahead of the 2022 IPL auctions. Ruturaj Gaikwad, the star player of the Indian cricket team, was born on 31 January 1997 in Pune, Maharashtra. In the year 2023, his age is 26 years. Gaikwad’s father Dashrath Gaikwad is retired from a senior post in DRDO i.e. Defense Research Development Organisation. Ruturaj’s mother’s name is Savita Gaikwad, she is a teacher at the municipality school.

Ruturaj Gaikwad’s Career in Domestic Cricket
Cricketer Ruturaj made his first-class debut for Maharashtra in the tournament “Ranji Trophy” on 6th October 2016.
In the 2019 Ranji Trophy season, he faced 199 balls and scored 108 in the 1st innings and faced 170 balls by scoring 76 runs in the 2nd innings at Pune, Maharashtra. Opening for the team Maharashtra vs Chhattisgarh.
He made his List A debut for Maharashtra on 25th February 2017 in the tournament “Vijay Hazare Trophy”. In this tournament, Ruturaj scored 444 runs in just 7 matches at an average of 63.42 and he scored 3 fifties and one century. He was the 3rd-highest run-scorer in the 2016–17 Vijay Hazare Trophy.
In the Indian domestic cricket series, he played for India A, India B, India Blue, Maharashtra, and India Under-23. In October 2018, Gaikwad was selected in the India B squad for the 2018–19 Deodhar Trophy.

The International Career of Ruturaj Gaikwad
In June 2021, Gaikwad was selected for India’s ODI and T-20 International squads for their series against Sri Lanka.
He made his T-20 debut for India against Sri Lanka on 28 July 2021. In December 2021, Gaikwad was selected for India’s ODI squad for the series against South Africa.
Ruturaj was again selected in India’s ODI squad in January 2022, this time for their home series against the West Indies. IThereafter n June 2022, he scored his maiden half-century in his maiden T20I cricket against South Africa.
In July 2022, he was named to India’s ODI squad against the West Indies.
IPL Career of Ruturaj Gaikwad
In December 2018, Gaikwad was signed by the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as the 2019 Indian Premier League player for ₹20 lacks. Ruturaj never expected him to be elected.
On 2nd October 2021, Gaikwad scored his maiden Indian Premiere League century, scoring 101 not out opposite Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the 2021 tournament.
On 15 October, Chennai Super Kings defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by 27 runs in the final, with Gaikwad scoring 32 runs off 27 balls, contributing to CSK’s total.
In the 14th season of IPL, Ruturaj gained the Orange Cap for scoring the most 635 runs with his tremendous performance in the tournament and was also awarded the Emerging Player of the Year award.
