Rahul Tewatia is an all-rounder Indian cricketer. He bats with his left hand and bowls right-arm leg break. He started his cricketing career as a young talent from Haryana where he made his mark. Tewatia made his IPL debut in the year 2014 while playing for Rajasthan Royals. He came into the limelight when he hit 5 sixes in an over in IPL 2020 against KXIP bowler Sheldon Cottrell.
Playing for Rajasthan, he made 53 in his innings with the help of a total of 7 sixes and contributed a lot in achieving the mammoth target of 224 runs. Rahul Tewatia was born on 20 May 1993 in Sihi village of Faridabad, Haryana state in a Hindu family and his full name is Rahul Vikram Tewatia. His father’s name is Krishnapal Teotia who is a lawyer by profession. Rahul Tewatia got married last year and he got married to Riddhi Pannu. Both of them have a love marriage, both knew each other since childhood. Rahul Tewatia has completed his education in Haryana.
Rahul was fond of playing cricket since childhood. At the age of just 4, Tewatia started playing cricket in the streets of the village. As time passed, his craze for cricket increased. He used to bowl along with batting in the village fields. Seeing the passion and talent of the son, the father decided to make him a cricketer. He got Teotia enrolled in a cricket academy located in Ballabhgarh.
His professional training started from here. After learning some tricks of cricket here, Tewatia went to the academy of former Team India cricketer Vijay Yadav. The coach recognized his talent and started working on him. Tewatia also learned every nuance of cricket by working hard. Whose fruit he also got. Hard work paid off and he soon managed to become a part of Haryana’s Ranji team.

Domestic Career
Rahul Tewatia made his first-class debut for Haryana during the 2013–14 Ranji Trophy against Karnataka at Rohtak on 6 December 2013. Rahul Tewatia made his List A debut for Haryana in the 2016–17 Vijay Hazare Trophy opposite the team Odisha in Delhi, India on 25th February 2017.
IPL Career
Seeing his performance in domestic matches, he got a chance to play in IPL. Rahul Tewatia made his Indian Premiere League debut for Rajasthan Royals in 2014. This was also the first T20 match of his career. In February 2017, Rahul was bought by Kings XI Punjab for the 2017 Indian Premiere League. In January 2018, he was bought by Delhi Daredevils for the 2018 IPL.
In November 2019, he was signed by the Rajasthan Royals for the 2020 IPL. On 27 September 2020, Tewatia equaled Chris Gayle’s record for most sixes in an over in an IPL match by hitting Sheldon Cottrell for 5 sixes in the 18th over of the match against Kings XI Punjab, scoring 53 runs in 31 balls. Made and successfully chased down the target of 224 runs. Tewatia was signed by Gujarat Titans for Rs 9 crore in the 2022 IPL Mega Auction.
