He was born in a highly educated family and his father was the Principal of a local school. His family never supported him in terms of playing cricket, so, he used to work at a construction site to meet his expenses for buying cricket equipment.
The senior members of his cricket club encouraged him and helped him in getting selected for the Khost Provincial Team and moved to Kabul. His performance kept on improving and finally, he was selected for the Under 19 Cricket team of Afghanistan to make his debut in the List A tour against the Zimbabwe team.
