Nehal Wadhera is an Indian cricketer who is known for his aggressive batting and he is a Left Handed Batsman. Nehal Wadhera was born on 04 September 2000 in a Hindu middle-class family in Ludhiana, Punjab. Nehal’s father’s name is Kamal Wadhera, and he is the owner of an online learning platform that gives a wide range of courses and exam preparation material for multiple competitive exams named TCY Learning Solutions. And mother’s name is Gurpreet Wadhera.

Domestic Career

He started playing cricket with the Punjab Under-16 team in the year 2015-16. Later, he played in the Vijay Merchant Trophy and Cooch Behar Trophy with the Punjab Under-19 team. He showcased his talent in the 2018 U-19 Coochbehar Trophy by scoring six half-centuries. He made his debut for the India under-19 cricket team against Sri Lanka on 17 July 2018 in which he scored 82 runs. Thereafter, he also played for India Under-19A and India Under-19 Green teams.

In the 2022 Punjab State Inter-District Tournament, he stunned everyone by scoring an astonishing 578 against Bathinda Under-23s. Where Nehal scored 578 runs in just 414 balls with 37 sixes and 42 fours. After this, he was given a cash reward of Rs 51,000.

He made his Ranji debut for Punjab against Gujarat on 3 January 2023 scoring his maiden century of 123. He scored his first double-century in the 2022-23 Ranji season by scoring 214 runs against Madhya Pradesh.

IPL Career

Wadhera was bought by Mumbai Indians in the December 2022 auction at his base price of Rs 20 lakhs. He played his first IPL match on 2 April 2023 against Royal Challengers Bangalore in which he scored 21 runs in 13 balls. Nehal became the first Indian batsman to hit a 100m long six in IPL 2023. On the third ball of the 14th over, he sent Karn Sharma’s ball in the direction of mid-wicket for a six. The ball fell on the roof of the stadium 101 meters away.

He proved to be useful for Mumbai Indians on many occasions, whenever the team got into trouble, he played quick and useful innings for the team. She scored 40 runs in 21 balls against Gujarat Titans when Mumbai Indians were 5 for 59 and again when Mumbai Indians were 14 for 3 she bowled well and against Chennai Super, she Scored his first T20 half-century.

Nehal scored sixty-four runs in fifty-one balls. On 19 May 2023, played an unbeaten inning of 34 balls and 52 runs against RCB and played an important role in helping the team win and hit three sixes and four fours in this innings.
