Manik Saha is an Indian politician, dentist, and teacher, and represents the Town Bordovali constituency in the Tripura Legislative Assembly. He joined the Bharatiya Janata Party six years ago, before that he was a member of the Congress. Manik Saha is the state president of the Tripura Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP). Manik Saha took oath as the 11th Chief Minister of the state at the State Bhavan in Agartala on Sunday, succeeding Biplab Dev, who resigned from the post after serving for four years.
Manik Saha was a dental surgeon before becoming a politician and made his initial career as a professor of dental surgery. Manik Saha, the current Chief Minister of Tripura, was born on 8 January 1953 (Thursday) in a Hindu family in Agartala, Tripura state, India.
His father’s name was Mr. Makhanlal Sahis ha and his mother’s name was Priya Bala Saheb and he is the only child of his parents.
Manik wanted to become a doctor when he grew up and he later fulfilled his dream and became a dental surgeon.
After this, he thought of serving the people of the country and he joined Indian politics and is currently serving the country as the Chief Minister of Tripura.

Manik Saha, after finishing his schooling in Tripura, pursued a career in medicine and his ambitions for the same led him to the city of Patna, where Manik finished his formal education in 1982 and obtained a Bachelor of Dental inee from the Government Dental College, Patna. Received degree in surgery.
After practicing for almost a decade, he joined the prestigious King George’s Medical College in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh in 1991, where he completed his post-graduation and Master of Dental (MDS) Surgery degree in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Career
Manik Saha started serving in Tripura Dental Health Services in the year 1994 after completing his education at King George’s Medical College.
And soon he rose to the rank of a senior dental surgeon. During his medical career, he also served as a teacher at Tripura Medical College, Hapania.
Afterward, Manik Saha served as Professor at Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Memorial in Agartala where he was appointed as the Head of the Department.
Political Journey
Manik Saha entered the world of politics by joining the Indian National Congress while serving as the Hthe head of the Department at BR Ambedkar Memorial Teaching Hospital.
As a Congress leader, Manik was part of the opposition against the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party but due to some internal issues, he broke his ties with the Indian National Congress in the year 2016.
After parting ways with the Congress, he thought fit to join the Bharatiya Janata Party and was appointed as the President of BJP Tripura in the year 2020 replacing Viplav Kumar Dev.
As a president, he is credited with enrolling more than 7 lakh new members in the party and is also credited with formulating phthisis.
This led to BJP’s resounding victory against its opponents in the municipal elections held in the year 2021 and Manik Saha resigned from the post of the party before becoming the Chief Minister of Tripura in the year 2022.
After this, in the ye itself, the Bharatiya Janata Party made him its candidate to become a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha.
