Lalu Prasad Yadav is an Indian politician. He was born in Phulwaria, Gopalganj, Bihar, India on the 11th of June in the year 1948. He is famous for being the former Chief Minister of Bihar, former Union Minister, former MP of Lok Sabha, and remained president of RJD, a political party in Bihar, India.

He started his political career in 1974 by joining Jai Prakash Narayan Bihar Movement, which helped him win the Lok Sabha election from Chapra. From 1990 to 1997 he served as the Chief Minister of Bihar.
In 1997 he formed a new political party named Rashtriya Janata Dal Party (RJD) and also won the general election from Madhepura in 1998. He became a member of the Home Affairs committee and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting from 1998 to 1999. From 2002 to 2004, he served in Rajya Sabha.
