Lalit Modi is a cricket administrator and businessman from India. He was studying electrical engineering and business administration but didn’t graduate. He got into the family business in 1986. He became the president of International Tobacco Company Ltd in 1987, the position he served till 1991.
He became a Non- Independent and Non-Executive Director of Godfrey Phillips India. In 1992, he became the executive director of the company, which is one of the largest tobacco companies in India. He founded Modi Entertainment Networks in 1993.

On 17-10-1991, he married Minal Sagrani (after marriage Minal Modi). Together the couple is blessed with a son named Ruchir Modi and a daughter named Aliya Modi. He has a stepdaughter named Karima Sagrani.
His wife Minal was suffering from a cancer and eleven years older then him who died on 10-12-2018 at the age of 64. Presently, he is dating Sushmita Sen, an actress & Miss Universe 1994.
