Syed Javed Ahmed Jaffrey, aka Javed Jaffrey, is an Indian film actor, dancer, and comedian. Javed has performed in many Bollywood movies and Indian TV shows. Apart from his association with India’s substantial and significant Bollywood film industry, Jaffrey gained approval for his play in a Maggi tomato ketchup ad aired in the year 1990. The actor is a noted impressionist, popular for his character in Bombay Boys, starring in its hit song I am Mumbhai.
Javed is also known for his portrayals of Mumbai hoodlums connected to taporis within Mumbai, India, and the state of Maharashtra. Javed has been running and hosting a highly successful dance show called Boogie Woogie since 1996 on Sony Entertainment Television and giving dubbed commentary to the popular Japanese TV show Takeshi’s Castle on Pogo television. Jaffrey is the son of comedian Jagdeep. Javed entered the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in March 2014 and contested the 2014 Indian general election from the Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India, constituency, finishing fifth.
