Fahadh hails from Alappuzha, Kerala. Fahadh Faasil completed his early education at SDV Central School Alappuzha, Lawrence School Ooty, and Choice School Tripunithura. He then did his graduation from Sanatan Dharma College Alleppey and also did his MA in Philosophy from Miami University, USA.

Arrested For Luxury Car Tax Evasion

Fahadh was arrested by the Kerala Police on 25 December 2017 (Monday) for evading taxes on his luxury car Mercedes Benz E Class by making fake documents. In Kerala, 20 percent of taxes on vehicles above INR 20 lakh are charged and with that fake documents, Fahadh evaded such taxes and paid only INR 1.5 lakh of the car tax instead of paying over INR 14 lakh. To get the bail, Fahadh had to pay a bond of INR 50,000 along with two solvent sureties.

Career 2002-2015

Fahadh started his film career in 2002 with the film ‘Kaiyethum Doorath’ but the film was a flop. Soon Fahadh realized that acting was not his thing. Thinking this, he went to America for further studies. Once during his studies in America, Fahadh saw the Hindi film ‘Yun Hota Toh Kya Hota’. In this film, Salim Rajbali’s character was so inspired by Irrfan Khan’s character that he watched all of Irrfan’s films. Seeing Irrfan’s acting and his expressions, Fahadh felt that acting is not so difficult for him. Because of Irrfan, Fahadh made a comeback in movies. In 2009, he did a Malayalam film named ‘Kerala Cafe’. In this film, Fahadh played the role of a journalist. Then in 2010, he did three Malayalam films named ‘Pramani’, ‘Cocktail’ and ‘Tournament’.
