Ekta Kaul was born on May 16, 1990 (Wednesday) in Jammu, India. Ekta was born and raised in Jammu. She did her schooling at MHAC School Nagbani and after completing her early education she went to attend a college in Jammu, where she finished her graduation in biotechnology and thereafter, she went on to get a Master of Business Administration (MBA).
Ekta was very fond of acting since her childhood she often used to participate in her school programs and because of her interest in acting after completing her higher studies she started working with Nestle as a manager for a while, and whilst she was posted in Mumbai, she began to dabble in acting.
Ekta was born into a middle-class Hindu family to her father Rajinder Kaul and her mother Vimmi Kaul. She also has a sister named Bharti Kaul Sethi. Talking about her love life, she dated her Rab Se Sohna Isshq co-star Kanan Malhotra and they were about to get married but unfortunately split up in the year 2013.
She got engaged to actor-writer of films, web series, and theatre Sumeet Vyas, of Permanent Roommates fame, and they were married on 15 September 2018 (Saturday) in Jammu. The duo has a son named Ved, who was born in 2020.

Ekta Kaul started her career as the lead character of Sahiba Agarwal in the soap opera named “Rab Se Sohna Ishq”, Ekta was a contestant in the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Season 6. She acted as the character of Dr. Suhani Malhota in the Sony Entertainment Television India soap opera Bade Achhe Lagte Hain.
