He has completed his schooling at St. George’s College, Mussoorie. After this, he completed his graduation from Hansraj College, University of Delhi. Deepak also did MPhil from Jawaharlal Nehru University after completing his graduation.
After completing his The Master of Philosophy (MPhil) degree from JNU, New Delhi in the year 2005, Deepak was selected for The Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and began getting 8000 rupees per month. During his graduation, he started preparing for UPSC. But in the first and second attempts of UPSC, Deepak could not succeed in this exam.
But still, despite this, he did not give up. Rawat tried again for the third time and Rawat was successful in that attempt. In the year 2007, Deepak Rawat cleared the UPSC exam. Deepak Rawat secured the All India 12th rank in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) exam in the year 2007. After this, Deepak got an opportunity to become an IAS officer in the Uttarakhand cadre.
