She was born to Sampath (father) & Shashikala(mother) in Mangalore town of Karnataka. Abhijeeth is her younger brother. Her parents separated when she was young, she along with her brother were brought up by her mom.

She started her career as soon as she finished her PUC as an achor in a Mangalore based TV channel “Namma Tv” a channel owned by Shivsharan Shetty brother of popular kannada music director Gurukiran. Later when she had offers in Bangalore, she decided to go for it even though the pay was as less as 250 Rs per episode those days. Later she appeared in the mainstream kannada channels like “ETV Kannada”, “Kasturi”, “Zee Kannada”, “Suvarna TV” and so on.
Bigg boss Kannada: Anushree also participated in the first season of “Big Bass Kannada” along with Vijay Raghavendra, Arun Sagar, Nikita Thukral , Narendra Babu and others. She lasted 12 weeks and was eliminated as the 6th last.
