Ajinkya Rahane’s full name is Ajinkya Madhukar Rahane, who is an international Indian cricketer. Ajinkya is primarily a middle-order batsman. He has represented the Indian team in all three formats of the game (Test, ODI, and T20 International). Indian cricketer Ajinkya Rahane was born on 6 June 1988 in a village named Ashwini Khurd in Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra. He comes from a middle-class normal family, his father’s name is Madhukar Baburao Rahane he was a civil engineer and his mother’s name is Sujata Rahane. In his family, apart from his parents, he has a brother Shashank Rahane and a younger sister Apoorva Rahane.
Education
Ajinkya Rahane received his early education from SV Joshi High School, Dombivli Thade, Mumbai, after which he joined Maharashtra University for further education and obtained a bachelor’s degree in commerce from there.
At the age of seven, Ajinkya’s father admitted him to a small cricket coaching camp, as he could not afford big coaching. At the same time, when Ajinkya turned 17, he took cricket coaching from former India batsman Praveen Amre.

Career
Rahane made his first-class debut for Mumbai on 8 September 2007, against Karachi Urban in Karachi. He played an inning of 143 runs in the debut match. Rahane scored 1089 runs in his second Ranji season to help Mumbai win their 38th title. Ajinkya made his List A debut for Mumbai against Delhi on 18 March 2007, in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. He contributed 61 runs in this match.
He made his ODI debut on 3 September 2011, against England at Chester-le-Street. Rahane scored 40 runs in this match at a strike rate of 90.90. Ajinkya made his T20I debut on 31 August 2011 against England at Manchester. He scored 61 runs in 49 balls in this match. The match was the only T20 International played by former Indian captain Rahul Dravid.
Rahane made his Test debut on 22 March 2013, against Australia in Delhi. In 2015, he was appointed as the captain of the ODI and T20 cricket team to tour Zimbabwe. In March 2017, Rahane captained the Indian team in the fourth Test against Australia as Virat Kohli was injured. India won that match by eight wickets and won the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
IPL Career
In the 2012 Indian Premier League, Ajinkya Rahane was bought by Rajasthan Royals (RR). In the 5th season of IPL (2012), Rahane became the first batsman to score a century. Rahane was the top run scorer for Rajasthan this season. Ajinkya played for Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) in the 9th (2016) and 10th (2017) seasons. Rahane was the highest run scorer for RPS in the 2016 season. In 2018, Rajasthan Royals brought Rahane back again for Rs 4 crore. He led the Rajasthan Royals in the 2018 season.
Before the 2020 IPL, he was transferred from Rajasthan Royals to Delhi Capitals. This franchise retained him for the 2021 season.
